Capacity of a company with flexibility and short delivery times - FN Neuhofer Holz continues to invest

The internationally renowned provider for moulding systems and accessories for the floor, wall and ceiling, FN Neuhofer Holz, has invested in two additional production lines and a 2,000 m² warehouse. On the one hand this means that FN is continuing to expand its capacities, but on the other hand that it is still maintaining its customary flexibility.

After making a considerable investment in the 3,150 m² production hall in 2005 with the most modern machinery to ensure the highest in quality and capacity, FN Neuhofer Holz has continued to invest as a result of its very good order situation.

The fully automated cutting and planing line, which is presented at FN as "Line 7", means that FN's customary flexibility and short delivery times will also be ensured in the future.

"Production line 7"consists of a "Paul multi-blade saw", the fully automated Weinig planing machine "Powermat 2000" with 9 spindles, as well as a Scheuch extraction system. Furthermore, investment has also been made in two new sharpening systems incl. "Opti Controll". The Powermat possesses the new Weinig moulding technology, which allows maximum efficiency during production. In addition this machine also provides a perfect surface finish.

As a result of the short setting-up times, the entire system, which is operated via the "PowerCom Touch Screen", is particularly designed for medium to large batches. This means that FN can further ensure its customary flexibility is maintained. This system’s capacity is approx. 20 million running metres of moulds per year.

"Production line 8", which consists of a casing machine in connection with a packaging machine, was purchased in mid-September. This unit has been designed in such a way that it can be upgraded at any time.

The new "Lines 7 & 8" were installed in the production hall, which was constructed in 2005, and the additional production was started at the end of October.

"Due to this machine upgrade there wasn't enough space in the recently constructed hall. It therefore became a necessity for us to build another hall with a surface area of 2,000 m², whose completion is planned for the middle of November", states Martin Neuhofer. "Furthermore", continues Mr. Neuhofer, "the acquisition of a 10,000 m² premises represents an additional investment, which allows further expansion possibilities at our location in Zell am Moos."

Franz Neuhofer jun., regarding the investments from a sales point of view, states: "The increased capacity will be divided between expanded markets and existing customers. The entire profiling capacity at present is 110 million running metres, which is divided among different models."

The increased capacities will naturally also mean increased employment of all employees. Therefore a factory canteen and a staffroom covering a total area of over 300 m² was created at the beginning of October to help create the corresponding conditions for motivation and efficiency.

Altogether approximately 7 million Euro were invested by FN Neuhofer Holz in 2005 and 2006.
